Team Updates

FRC Team NOMAD Update – February 2022

Team NOMAD is up and at ’em to tackle the 2022 season challenge, Rapid React. Our team members are excited to innovate and plan in-person for this season – and we’re taking you with us every step of the way on social media and through our blog posts, which you can find on the NOMAD Blog. Full steam ahead!

FRC Team NOMAD Update – September 2021

As COVID-19 restrictions ease, Team NOMAD is back – teaching new students and tinkering with current designs as we get ready to participate in the off-season competition Beach Blitz from November 5th-7th. We’re already looking forward to the game reveal in January and continue to keep our skills sharp in the meantime. It’s full-speed ahead for Team NOMAD as we continue to safely work, learn, and grow within current health and safety standards.

FRC Team NOMAD Update – October 2020

Today, October 10th, marks the first workshop Team NOMAD has hosted since March! We are of course following all CDC and California COVID-19 precautions while beginning work for the season to help train our new team members. In the past few months, we’ve continued to meet over Zoom to keep our team members engaged as best as possible. In that time, the business team has put together a Krispy Kreme fundraiser to help with expenses for the upcoming 2021 season – GAME CHANGERS.

If you would like to support Team NOMAD, this fundraiser lets you purchase $10 Krispy Kreme vouchers, valid for a dozen Original Glazed® doughnuts. These vouchers do not expire, are not limited by region, and are distributed via email within a week of purchase. Just follow this link and remember to fill out the form and payment details! As we continue to adjust to living and working within the new constraints COVID-19 has introduced into our lives, Team NOMAD is staying healthy and looking forward to the new robotics season. We hope to continue learning and growing even during these crazy times we live in.

FRC Team NOMAD Update – May 2020

Throughout the 2020 build season, Team NOMAD built a great robot to tackle the 2020 game: INFINITE RECHARGE. However, on the day our regional competition arrived, the stay-at-home order in response to COVID-19 in California went into effect. While we were sorry to miss our competition, we look forward to the 2021 season: an improvement upon the Infinite Recharge game, GAME CHANGERS. We hope to use our off-season to train new team members, gain new skills, and work with our community and sponsors to promote robotics while we wait to test our robot in the 2021 game. We’re staying healthy and hopeful, and always looking forward to the future!

FRC Team NOMAD Update – December 2019

As we look forward to gearing up for the FRC 2020 season, we’re working hard to raise funds for robot parts, competition fees, and keeping the team running! Check out our Robocamps for awesome LEGO-based day camps for kids to help support us, or come party with us on December 28th for Winter Wonderland at Ice-Plex with Team NOMAD! We look forward to ending this year and beginning a new one filled with amazing workshops, challenges, and teamwork with FIRST’s 2020 challenges: INFINITE RECHARGE!

FRC Team NOMAD Update – April 2019

We had such a great time at the San Diego Regional on March 8th and 9th. Thanks to our fabulous alliance partners 987 High Rollers and 3647 Millennium Falcons, we came home with our first Regional Championship win!

Just when we thought our robotics season was coming to an end, we now find ourselves in overdrive planning to attend the World Championships in Houston on April 18th and 19th.

Just days after winning the San Diego Regional, we were notified that we had won the Qualcomm Innovation Award for the San Diego Regional. We are overwhelmed by the support we have received from our community and Qualcomm! This award comes with a monetary gift that will pay our way to Houston!
