Team NOMAD is back in the workshop again this weekend! Over the past two days the CAD sub team has been working tirelessly and making progress on our robot design. With laptops sprawled in every direction, the CAD team has been extremely diligent and focused. On the other side of the workshop, however, NOMAD team members have been machining custom […]

Team NOMAD had our first full workshop weekend! NOMAD is glad to be back in full swing, and to move forward in the design process. Fleet Week 2018
It’s a new year for team NOMAD, and we are so grateful to have started it off with LA Fleet Week on Labor Day weekend. Our mechanic and software teams spent a few weeks in preparation for the competition fine tuning our lift, autonomous, and grabber. When competitions started, everything worked smoothly, but towards the […]

2018 Week 2 of Build Season
By the end of week two, we continued to play with prototyping our grabber and testing out methods to lift and lower a cube. We also spent time CADing different design options and discussing the importance of each robot task. There may have also been some food and foosball going on.
2018 Week 1 of Build Season
This week our team made a lot of progress on our robot. We started off with a few different ideas and prototypes, which we then put to use on our robot just to see how they would work out. We also decided that we were going to be using pneumatics on our robot, so everyone had […]
We enjoyed visiting the Daedalus (FRC Team 2839) workshop in our first week of the build season. We were in need of some parts to start prototyping our robot and Daedalus was gracious in offering to lend us some parts. Daedalus has a very well organized workshop. Our team felt like kids in a candy […]
